The book does a good job of explaining what you should put in your prenup, and why you should put it in there. It includes ideas about not just what will happen in the event of a divorce, but also a lot of great ideas of what you should put in there about how finances will be handled during the marriage. In fact, I would say about 75% of the prenup we wrote based on this book was about how finances would be split during the marriage (i.e., who pays for what, what expenses are joint, etc.), and only 25% is about what happens if we divorce. My fiance and I wrote the prenup together ourselves using this book, and then we both hired separate attorneys to review our agreement for us. Both attorneys had only minimal changes and suggestions, which I think saved us a lot of money. I think you could save a lot of attorneys fees by taking the first stab at writing the prenup yourself using this book and just having an attorney review what you've written. If you have existing kids or a complicated family structure, you should definitely have an attorney review it before signing it. For my husband and me with no kids and no plans to have kids, the prenup was a relatively straight-forward document that we easily drafted using this book.

My husband and I used this book and CD set to help us write our pre-nup before we married. The information was very helpful to us, and made the process much easier. Pre-nups are especially valuable if one of you has significantly more assets (or debts) than the other, if one is self-employed and the other is not, or if there are other special circumstances that make the default laws of your state apply in an unfair way if you did not have a pre-nup. But those kinds of circumstances can also make a one-size-fits-all prenup less appropriate for you unless you adapt it a lot.Whatever you do, it is crucial that you read the relevant portions of your state's laws very carefully, because even a lawyer can miss important details buried in the legal jargon. You can find all the state laws online through any search engine. For Californians, the MUST_READ sections include Family Code sections 1610-1617, and especially pay attention to 1615(c)3. Also look at Family Code sections 910-916. These were ones most relevant to us, but there may be others that you need to know about, for example, if you have other dependents to consider.We adapted and added to the passages in the Nolo book and CD as needed for our own circumstances, but we were lucky enough to have an expert paralegal in the family who helped us find the right legal code sections and who proofread for us to make sure our intent and our language was clear. We would still recommend you run your completed draft by someone with some expertise who has done prenups recently and who doesn't ignore your background work and try to do the whole thing from scratch at your expense.Something to think about: my husband and I found that all the detailed financial discussion and disclosure sometimes caused disagreement, but also brought us closer together. This is because we learned more about each other, reaffirmed our shared values, and learned the valuable skills of open-minded discussion, problem-solving, listening, tactful sharing of opinions, negotiation and compromise. So many people marry without ever talking about the unromantic but vitally important topics like finances! We encourage all couples to talk about these things very honestly. If you are not a good match, it will become more obvious during this process, but sooner is far less painful than later to find that out. If you are a good match, this process will leave you stronger and more confident in your coming marriage. Good luck to you.

You do not need to buy the book to get the forms. The link to the forms is in the sample. The book is great at explaining in layman's terms what each part of the document pertains to. So if you need that extra information, get it. When we submitted our prenup to our lawyers they were impressed with how perfectly it was written, and had no edits to make.

If you live in the state of California and need a post-nup for any reason, both you and your spouse will need to retain counsel. During my quest to find legal representation for a post-nup, prior to purchasing a house, I came accross a number of lawyers who wanted to upsell for services. I was lucky enough to find a great lawyer who recommended I save a few bucks and start the process myself, using Nolo. You can use this book for post-nups, with just a few changes in the wording.You can then have the 2 lawyers review your agreement and viola! you're done.This book was incredibly helpful and the templates were easy to find online. The book does not come with CDs. The book is full of examples and I was able to find the example that perfectly suited my situation.I should mention, however, that these nolo books are great! The only exception would be their book on estate planning. I'm just passing on what my lawyer told me.

The information in the book covered about 60% of the questions I had concerning my pre-nup. It presented the concepts of separate property and marital property. It covered a fairly broad area of potential clauses to add concerning pre-marital debt, taxes, real estate, etc. It has an appendix that list all the clauses as they might appear in a pre-nup. This was extremely useful in helping me get my head around the issues that would be important to me. My bride and I also used the worksheets on the CD - I found them useful not so much in that they will write your pre-nup for you (that's very unrealistic) but that they posed questions that got us really thinking and talking about the finer points of the pre-nup. I thought the book was extremely useful, just don't expect it to answer every question. Every couple's situation is different and state laws are different - for instance I had questions concerning life insurance policies and retirement plans that weren't answered in the book. But the book is a great primer before you speak with your lawyer(s).

Full disclosure, I am not a rabid sports nut. That said, I feel that Tim Forbes and I are somewhat kindred spirits. Everything he said about being disillusioned with corporate life resonated with me deeply. When he took the plunge and gave it all up to do what he loved, I envied him.As the story progressed I started to get a sinking feeling. I have long thought that the BIG sports in America were broken. Money has taken over and as Tim told of his experiences I understood but felt bad for him and for myself. I did not sign up for a diatribe on what is wrong with sports in America, and I had the idea that was what I was in for. It was, but there was a light at the end of the tunnel and I was very glad I kept reading.When I read a book like this, once I am done I always find myself wondering if I would like to have dinner with the author. If I can say "yes" to that question then I count the time reading as well spent. Upon finishing this book I can only say that I would love to have dinner with Tim Forbes and if you give yourself the chance to stick with him through his entire journey, you would probably say the same.

Like a lot of people who work in sports there's no time to indulge in any sports much less your favorites.Forbes hit the road for a year to attend 100 different sporting events and turned it into a seamless tribute to the games we love. Tim's experience in pro sports means his criticisms come with credibility. But even more impressive are his stories of sports fans who still hit, throw, swim, wrestle, run, and bike simply because it's fun.It's Game Time Somewhere is a great read. Pick it up and you'll soon find yourself getting off of the couch and back into the game.

I enjoyed It's Game Time Somewhere, as an e-book. Being a lifelong sports fan, I could relate to waxing and waning fanaticism over the years, wanting to be a part of the game, and savoring the excitement and nuances of attending different types of events. The initial focus on golf was interesting, even if jaded. The author's rants against the PGA and ESPN were eye opening. The timeline of the book was a bit confusing at times. I didn't always follow the lapses into the "you know what I'm talking about" tone.Although I didn't read the blog that I believe led to this book, overall the book is cohesive and delivers the promised sports lovers adventure.

Both funny and touching, It's Game Time Somewhere chronicles a journey during which the author rediscovers his love of sports, particularly amateur sporting events where people do it just because they love it. Give it to the sports fan in your life.

I used this book in Panama. It has great information on the history and culture of Panama which I really enjoyed reading. The print size problem other reviewers referred as being tiny is only in regards to map legend numbers. I had no issues with the print size. What I did not like about the book is it is the 2017 edition but already needs some updating:- There is a direct bus to the tourist center at Miraflores Locks of the Panama Canal from Albrook Mall. Following the guidebook and taking any Gamboa or Paraiso bus is a waste of time as you have to walk 15 minutes from the main road into the Canal facility. At the Albrook Bus Station look for Zone D northbound and take a Miraflores bus from there. Unfortunately there is only one bus an hour so if you don't see a line of people waiting, jump in a cab if you want to save time.- The book needs a Panama City metro map, this is obvious.- Expect the book to require a major update once Panama City's Metro lines 2 and 3 are ready (2019? will include airport connection by metro to downtown Panama City).- The book suggests walking down Avenida Central to get to Casco Viajo from the Cinco de Mayo metro station. This is ridiculous, Avenida Central has no longer any redeeming cultural value; it is like visiting a Walmart in the USA to see how people live. Perhaps in the past it was home to traditional clothing/craft stores but today it is full of appliance, cellphone and cheap clothing stores, and it is NOT a short walk either. Save your time and energy and take a cab to Casco Viajo.- El Gunko in Boquete section: This geologic columnar basalt rock formation, similar to the Giant's Causeway in Ireland, deserves more mention; it is also called Los Ladrillos by the locals, and you won't get anywhere by asking them for El Gunko.

This book is perfect for my style of travel. Not staying in hostels or in Hilton's but in between. Lots of choices! I have several other Panama guide books on my Kindle but ordered this in paper so I can look at on a street corner without exposing my expensive electronics for thieves to target. Great maps!

Maybe this book is for readers < 35yo with excellent vision. I attemtped to read it but the font is unusually small and in many places the font is very light. Wish I paid more heed to the other reviewer who commented on this feature.It's a shame -- It looks like a lot of work went into it and it received positive review.

the print is so small that i am unable to read it for any length of time even with my cheater eyeglasses. it's a pity because what i have read seems quite good.

Unless you already know a lot about Panama, this book will be useless. Very confusing to figure out where places are. Difficult book to navigate. Once you figure out locations, the actual information is limited. Not the book for a first time visitor to Panama. Much too complicated and not enough useful info.

used this more when I returned to catalog the images and places I visited and look up interesting facts including species of wildlife.

If your patterns aren't working for you and you keep finding that you often make the same life mistakes that leave you unhappy, unfulfilled and starting over, it definitely warrants a deeper look into personal healing.If you have anything in your life that you feel is giving you trouble and you feel stuck on, I highly suggest reading this book, but again it is not an easy read. Even with my advanced educational level and ability to comprehend complex subject matter, I found it to be a challenging read because is it not a passive activity. With this book, I was able to take my recovery into my own hands and heal in my own way.The book took me more than 6 months to read because each chapter brought up so many issues I thought I had already processed and dealt with. I may have, but never so deeply and mindfully with a focus on healing myself as a whole; body, soul, mind and spirit.After reading this book, I am now able to both ground myself and tap into universal connectivity and consciousness for limitless possibilities. I can pull that universal energy down through my chakras to manifest anything I can conceive of. I worked on the areas that needed attention with a new awareness. I know where I still need to keep working.I also know that now it is time to get out into the world and start using my new knowledge to connect, to grow, to expand and to love again. #Love and the heart are where everything meets and more growth becomes possible.I have made some massive changes in my life that I never thought possible 2 years ago, or even a year ago. Each day I become a better person. Each day I am more healed. It has been emotionally rough and all consuming at times, but I am glad that I put so much effort into seeking out my own way of healing and recovery.In finishing the book, I feel like I have reached the top of a big mountain of s*** that I can now flush, like a toilet, back down into the earth beneath me, which acts as fertilizer for the trees and the earth that grounds me at a higher altitude of existence than I have ever experienced before.I have leveled the playing field onto higher ground, raising myself up and learning in the process what it really means to "let go of what no longer serves you".Because of Eastern Body Western Mind, I now understand myself differently, I understand others differently, I understand the world differently and I understand the universe differently. I have traversed through the depths of massive multiple traumas and grief, emerging from what seemed to be an endless tunnel of dark emotional pain, into a new light of being and a healthier way of living.It is my greatest hope that others in the world read this book and find their own way of healing and transforming; moving from darkness into the light and sadness into the happiness of enlightened living in a purposeful way.~ Namaste ~

While I am very much interested in the idea of incorporating Western psychology into the Eastern philosophy of the chakras, my interest is personal--i.e., I am looking to help myself/expand my personal knowledge of my Self. Unfortunately, entirely too much of this book was geared toward the therapist working with clients. Too many of the exercises were written in terms of "have your client do this..." or "have your client do that..."I don't have clients and the exercises don't seem to translate very well to a person doing their own personal work. Returning the book.

One of the best books I've ever read. I've read books on psychology, all sorts of self help books, books about chakras, etc...none of them have been as fascinating as this book. I had a hard time putting it down. All the info/research rang true to me. It was very well organized, from the opening, to the 7 chakra chapters, to the closing. So much info its incredible. Great reference guide. Tells you whether you are deficient, excessive or balanced in your chakras by your symptoms. Suggestions for healing. I usually pass books on to friends not this one I will be refering back to this one again, I loved this book.

The only criticism I have of this book is that it wasn't long enough! Truly. When I read this book, I immediately pulled out my pencil and started to take copious notes in the margin, underlining, etc. I was captivated throughout.Anyone who comes from a western culture and has an interest in understanding what the chakra system is and how it is related to our lives at every stage needs to read this book. Judith does a superb job of merging the chakra systems with traditional western psychology concepts and the lifespan. She seamlessly combines and compares eastern and western concepts using charts, graphics, and detailed descriptions. The main thrust of the book is that we experience various life traumas at different stages, and they affect corresponding chakras, creating deficiencies or excesses in how we channel energy (cope). Most importantly she gives concrete strategies for healing each chakra and therefore, connecting to our highest spiritual purpose.

I absolutely love this book! It is a deep and thorough read. If you are into the chakra system as a newbie or as an experienced yogi, I would recommend this book. Everything you wanted to know about the chakra system is here in this book. It is totally informative and also allows you to reflect on the system as a whole. I use this book as a reference guide and as a deep read. It doesn't ever get old. Completely recommended for anyone seeking answers about the chakra system.

Excellent information about human consciousness. This book changed the way I think about my personal development. It's a very useful tool for pinpointing what part of life is lacking and what you should be focused on improving. Even if you don't agree with energy flowing through your body, and chakras controlling your perception of life, this book provides you with a way to get you thinking about what you are struggling with. You can then take steps to clean up your weaknesses, whether it is a lack of will power or the ability to open up to the people in your life. Open your heart and mind and you will see how to take control of your life.

This book has taught me so much to help myself and clients. I will always use it as a reference point for anything involving chakras.
