This book is fascinating! I knew that parts of cannabis could be used for medicinal purposes aside from pain relief, but I didn't know the extent. This really was an informative and interesting dive into the uses of CBD for healing. I like that this was written by someone with extensive medical knowledge - it lends a layer of validity to the content that might otherwise be missing. I like that she includes the sociopolitical history of cannabis in order to give context for why a book like this is necessary. I found her guide to CBD products to be incredibly helpful and thorough. Although she explains different substances and research in medical terms, she does so in a way that is fairly easy to follow, and I think it adds a lot to this book. It's not just about how to use CBD for yourself - it's about understanding the science and history behind CBD.

I was super skeptical of CBD oil. It seemed like it was just a way to circumvent laws around marijuana use. But I was totally wrong. The first thing this book makes clear is that CBD doesn't lead to intoxication. From there, the author does an incredible job of laying out how different types of CBD oil can help with a variety of different conditions. I was especially interested in the chapters about anxiety and sleeping disorders. I learned some important facts, like the biphasic nature of CBD oil (essentially, low doses and high doses have opposite effects). I also learned about the various ways to ingest CBD and the pros and cons of each. All in all, this has been a great educational read. I feel informed and ready to go to the local CBD store to get started!

This book is a great book for anyone looking to use CBD as medical alternative. It gives the history of Cannabis, how cannabidiol effects the body, what is cannabidiol, is cannabidiol safe, sources of cannabidiol (cannabis and hemp), health conditions helped by cannabidiol, using cannabidiol, how much is needed for a patient, and finding products that can be trusted. I got this book because I have personally seen the difference CBD’s have made for someone with chronic pain. Prescriptions drugs were the only alternative for many years and cannabidiol was looked down upon by physicians and pain management.. The side effects from opiates and other controlled substance were debilitating both mentally and physically. Now much more research has been done and cannabidol is being used in the medical field. If you have considered researching CBD, this book is very informative.

As a registered nurse who is expected to know about medical cannabis and interested in helping people through their serious illnesses or just to know more about medical cannabis as an option, this book is absolutely incredible and a must have. Aside from that, this is one of the most user friendly, honest and well-written books of ANY kind that I have ever read. I recommend it highly. And finally, if you read it in public spaces like I have, don’t be shocked if older people ask you what you think of the book and then proceed to inform you of how they use cannabis for their ailments. If we are to truly care for the people among us who have debilitating illnesses, it is imperative that we know how to use high-quality medical cannabis products to help them. This book can help both the patient and the health practitioner to have a straightforward guide to navigating the daunting paths to recovery using medical cannabis.

Nice rework of a Grimm's fairy tale. The story is well written, and quite creative in its own way. That being said, I cannot recommend the rest of the books in the series, especially the second book (Enna Burning as there is a scene where she almost gets raped and is manipulated - not appropriate for a pre-teen and young teen audience which would be its readers - I was lulled into comfort with this book and the Princess Academy series and regret not previewing Enna Burning). Buyer beware.

I purchased this book for my 8 year old daughter to listen to as an audio book, and then I stayed up nearly all night reading it myself. It was absorbing and exciting. I (40ish year old mom) didn't want to put it down and go to bed. I did, however, feel the content was too mature for my 8 year old. So, much to her annoyance, I am having her hold off on this book until she's at least 10-12. Highly recommend for that age and above! I look forward to reading more of her series! In this case, I was not familiar with the classic fairy tale of the Goose Girl so it made the story even more interesting for me.

My 13 year old niece recommended this book. I did not expect to like it very much. Much to my surprise, I absolutely loved it . The author writes in a very descriptive way and I was captivated by the story, this book definitely is for old and young alike. I can't do justice to the story, but in simple terms it is about a princess who is betrayed by her maid servant when the princess is on a journey to be married to a prince in another kingdom. Her entourage is killed off and the princess escapes. She finally makes it to the next kingdom ( after many trials) to find her maid servant has taken her identity and is scheduled to marry the prince. Of course the princess is in no way ,shape or form after her travels to claim she is the rightful princess, so she gets a job as the keeper of the castles geece. The princess has a secret. She can talk to swans at home and she could talk to her horse. Then she learns how to speak to the geece. She lives in the servants quartets and learns how to take care of herself and make friends. This is not easy for the princess as she was always a loner and had others taking care of her. She is biding her time and trying to find a way to let the prince know who she really is. I will only say great story, great ending!

I have such an emotional connection to this book because it was my absolute favorite when I was younger and it just brought back so many memories rereading it! 😍😭 Maybe if I was reading this for the first time I would give it a slightly lower rating, because I'm a little more critical but it's still getting that full five stars today! 😂 Honestly my only complaint is that it can be pretty slow at times but still. I adored this and love that ending and just, ASDFGHJKl.Also, real talk, Geric was my orgional boyfriend let's be honest. I need me a man like that! 😂

The Goose Girl is a fantasy based on a fairy tale. It is a slow moving tale at first, and some might be tempted to stop reading in the opening chapters where we are introduced to the excessively timid Princess Ani, a girl taken from her position as next in line to the throne and instead sent on a months long journey through the forest for a strategically arranged marriage to the prince of a larger neighboring kingdom. Ani has the ability to talk to swans and other birds and communicate telepathically with her trusted horse. But Ani is often tongue-tied as she speaks to humans, making her seemingly weak as royalty. On her journey to meet her betrothed she is attacked by those she once trusted, almost killed, and sent escaping into the forest. There she is cared for by a forest dwelling woman and her son, eventually preparing her to enter the city and find a way to reclaim her identity from one who has stolen it. That leads her to months spent as the palace goose girl, tending her flock of geese, learning their language, and in the process learning exactly who she is and who the poorer people of Bayern truly are.This is a beautiful story. I didn't originally think that it would appeal to me, and the slower pace of the beginning chapters still hadn't convinced me that this story would be a five star read for me. But somewhere down the line I ended up falling in love with this book. Ani was a wonderful heroine for this book. Yes, she really is a pushover and weak and uninspiring for a lot of this book. She allows almost everyone to walk all over her. But seeing her transformation from the weak Crown Princess Ani into the stronger goose girl, Isi, and finally taking her place as Pricess Ani, future wife of the prince of Bayern was fascinating to read. It was a journey that should appeal to all girls who have felt awkward and weak and poor spoken as they try to make their way in the world. A lot of us feel that way sometimes, and especially when we are in those awkward years of adolescence. This is a story of overcoming, finding our place, and making a difference in the world. Beautiful.Princess Ani drives this story capably, but the story is enriched by the wide number of supporting characters she encounters in her time as a goose girl. The forest people who befriend her are loyal and kind, willing to sacrifice all for her once they know her secret. Talone ... love him! Such loyalty and devotion. The romance is subtle, but oh so sweet. I couldn't help smiling at the Happily Ever After ending of this story. And once you read how the romance happens, you can hardly imagine that it could have worked out more perfectly any other way. If Ani had simply rode into the palace as the girl who left her kingdom at the beginning of the story she would not have been the strong princess that she became after her struggles throughout this book. Loved it!This is a book I highly recommend to all readers of all ages. It is a beautiful tale with great characters, and it is definitely my favorite Shannon Hale story. Five stars!

I needed this book for my LAN class and thought I'd go the cheaper route getting a used copy. Much to my surprise it was in amazing shape. Not a single mark or blemish on any page. However there was someone else's note in there, which is hardly a problem - just thought I'd state that. It even came with the original receipt.

Received book promptly and in very good condition as described. Book is paperback which is fine... much lighter. Very happy with purchase. Book (I believe) had an 'overseas' ISBN which was no big deal.... it's the same book. Definitely would buy thru Amazon books again.

The material still talks about old and outdated topics but is a good baseline. Has the principles behind networking and is easy to read. If you'd want to further your study on Cat6 or Gigabit this book won't cover it.

This book has been a big delusion. Of course it depends on what I was looking for.The book teaches network concepts from the basis and it doesn't cover more advanced topics.I already learnt many concepts presented in the book from internet tutorials or from other books (Tanenbaum). I think this book would have been useful to me two years ago. The only innovative chapter that tought me better how to "Design And Implement Networks" is "Lan/Wan/Lan Connection". Almost all other chapters are introductory explanations of existing protocols and technologies. I find the title misleading.Well explained. A good book to start from but insufficient as a second read.

I was required to use this book (2nd edition) for a class at American Sentinel University. The book is dated but still has useful information. It covers all major areas of networking briefly. I found the book to be a bit boring but I am sure it will be a decent reference book. Unless you have to buy this book for school I would recommend skipping it. I am giving this book three stars because it has useful information and lots of hands on activities. Two plus years ago it would be 4.5 stars. I really like the Thomson Course Technology books but this one is just too dated.

Although outdated in some areas (minimal) this book is great! We use it for our Networking Essentials class. One of the advantages of this book is that is is cross-platform. The terms apply to networks and technologies irrelevant of the vendor or operating system. The case studies and the projects provide a great opportunity for developing hands on experience in each of the chapters. I highly recommend this book since it complements very well the Cisco Academy Semesters 1-2 Book!!

This is a very interesting and useful guide of Baseball Hall of Famers' autographs. However, I was expecting to receive a book of color photographs of the autographs (as shown in the "look inside" pages of the Amazon listing), but the book contains only black-and-white photos of the autographs. This disappointed me because I felt that I was misled to believe I would receive a more attractive book. The "look inside" pages should be corrected to show what the book actually contains--black-and-white photos.

A good supplemental reference guide for baseball H.O.F. autograph collectors. Limited as no evaluation of formation and many HOF examples not present. Like Mark Allen Baker`s Baseball Autograph Handbook better!

This is a nice reference book for Hall Of Fame autographs, however.....After using the "look inside" feature to see what I would be getting for $39.95, I saw page after page of color samples, which to me justified the price. When my book arrived I was VERY disapointed to see NO COLOR at all?? My book looks like a black and white Xerox copy of the book shown for sale. The pictures shown on the "Look Inside" feature need to be updated.

Friendly approach: good graphical presentation and nice songsTheoretical knowledge easy to be understood and practiced by children.In my opinion, recommended for +5-6 years old kids who find music / drums attractive.It can be used not only for getting more familiar with this instrument and music, but also to enhance general knowledge (eg. quarter / half / whole, etc) and skills (eg. coordination).

I have been struggling for three years to develop an effective method for teaching Elementary aged children beginning percussion lessons. This book has everything I have been looking for all in a very kid friendly package. I can't wait to start using it tomorrow!

The two main recommendations in the book are worthwhile, which are that direct mentoring of young people is key and smaller communities rather than larger programs are the desired setting. All of that is established in the first part of the book, with some helpful step-by-step recommendations at the end (like how to get a small community started, how to recruit parent leaders, etc.). I appreciated this book in the initial stages.In the second half of the book, the author goes well beyond his area of knowledge. He is incredibly harsh on Catholic schools, seemingly on the basis of a few news reports of exceptional cases such as ones involving gay faculty who get married. He even comments on the Land O Lakes agreement and blames it (without any supporting evidence) for the downfall of most Catholic colleges… with certain exceptions, which happen to align with the Cardinal Newman Society’s list.As a youth minister with valuable experience and a couple important insights, the author has something useful to share, but not enough was included to sustain this book. By trying to comment on too much in too thin a manner, the whole book became rather suspect in my eyes.

As a 16 year old, I can say that this book really hit home on what it means to be a teenager. Recently I've been talking with my parents about youth ministry a lot, trying to pinpoint where the disconnect between youth groups and the faith formation classes and true, lasting discipleship is. This book answered many of my questions, put words to my thoughts, and inspired me to pursue my calling to youth ministry with new eyes and a fresh heart. I would sincerely recommend this book to anyone involved in any area of youth ministry!

This is far and away the best book on youth ministry I have ever read. Everett Fritz identifies and responds to many of the struggles with parish youth ministry with wonderful clarity. After reading this I am confident that I will be changing the model of high school youth ministry at my parish in the coming months. I read the entire book in one sitting; I just couldn’t put it down!

I have been giving away copies left and right, and urging people to buy their own when I don't have a copy to give. Fritz nails the problems with the current model of youth ministry, and his proposed solutions are in accord with what I've seen work.

The idea of discipleship has been gaining momentum now for a number of years, and with this book Everett Fritz demonstrates how to bring discipleship efforts to teens.In the first part of the book, Fritz diagnoses the problems: youth groups are not forming lifelong followers of Jesus Christ. Even those teens who are active in youth ministries - attending meetings, mission trips, conferences, retreats, etc. - often end up drifting away from the faith in college or young adulthood.Fritz argues that this is because youth groups failed to meet the needs of the teens that they ministered to. Teens need to be understood, belong, be able to open up and share their lives, have their questions answered, and be mentored. Large-scale youth ministry often fails to meet many or any of these needs.Fritz then moves on to look at why this is - citing additional cultural, family, and school challenges. In the final part of the book he then moves to the solution: discipleship-based small groups with adult mentors. He cites his own experience across many different parishes and environments to support this model and provides practical guidance on how to set up and implement this type of youth ministry.All-in-all, the author makes a convincing case: he diagnoses the problem and provides a solution that could readily be adopted without a huge investment in resources.One slight criticism I have of the book his discussion of Religious Ed (or CCD) - here he diagnoses the problem with great insight - but then does not follow up with any proposed solutions. A substantial number of RE students are pre-teens - and I don’t think he is proposing small groups for, say, 4th graders.That said, the book is about teen ministry - he recommends starting with freshman in high school - and here the author makes an argument that all youth ministers should consider.

Very informative. Read it in one night. Easy to implement. A must for every youth minister.

This book helped me shift from a focus of large gatherings to small groups, where discipleship can really take place. I am a non-Catholic youth pastor in a Protestant church but the authors ideas and strategies are equally as applicable. Will be applying this soon.

Great book, short and easy to read. Very accessible. Excellent diagnosis of problems in youth ministry, and a powerful solution.
